The SMSTS Refresher is a CITB-accredited course for anyone holding a valid Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate that is due for renewal. SMSTS certification must be refreshed every five years, and this two-day online course, delivered by a CITB-qualified instructor, brings your knowledge of site safety, health, welfare and environmental responsibilities back up to date.
The course revisits all five modules of the full SMSTS: legal responsibilities and management, health and welfare, general site safety, high-risk activities and environmental awareness.
Assessment is by an exam of 18 multiple-choice questions and seven short written questions, with a minimum pass mark of 81%.
Applicants must already hold a valid SMSTS certificate. If yours is approaching its five-year expiry, this is the course you need in order to keep it current.
On successful completion you are awarded an SMSTS Refresher certificate, demonstrating your competence to manage construction sites safely and in line with the CITB standard.
The course is delivered entirely online via Zoom by CITB-accredited trainers, so there are no travel costs and no time lost getting to a classroom.
